With an aim to make city green, the volunteers of GreNo Green Foundation (GGF) on Sunday planted more than 300 plants during three plantation drives held in a day in Gautam Budh Nagar.

The drives were held at Noida Sector 79, Greater Noida's 16th Avenue in Gaur City, and near Manthan School and Gaur International School.

"We want to increase the green belt area all over the district," Sanwarjeet Singh, a core member of GGF said.

While the plantation drive in Noida's sector 79 was carried out in the afternoon, the other two drives were held early morning.

During the drive, the volunteers not only planted trees, but they also cleaned the area, removed plastic or any non-eco-friendly element from the area.

Along the Sector 79 green belts area, shadow trees such as Pilkhan, Peepal and Jamun were planted by the volunteers.

"Our agenda is to save the planet Earth and make it a better place for the generation next, planting trees is our bit to balance the ills done to the mother earth," a volunteer said.

Talking to CitySpidey, Sanwarjeet said, "GGF is an open platform. Anybody who cares about the environment can join us. We have been organizing such drives on every Saturday and Sunday. Most of our volunteers are working professionals who are nature enthusiasts and contributing their bit on weekends."
