Dwarka: IGNOU-REWA organises health talks on heart, cancer diseases

IGNOU-REWA, a welfare association of retired employees of the national open university, on Saturday organised a health talk session on heart and cancer diseases at Dwarka. It was organised in association with Venkateshwar Hospital.

On the occasion, Dr Sanjeev Pandey, Regional Director, IGNOU, was the chief guest. Prof Pandav Nayak and Prof BS Saraswat were the guests of honour.

Dr Salil Garg and Dr Jyotika Jain addressed the gathering on heart and cancer diseases respectively.

Apart from the retired employees of the national open university, a large number of present employees attended the session. It was an interactive session wherein participants enthusiastically discussed their concerns.

Senior citizens also had a good time while interacting with each other. Participating members requested the IGNOU-REWA to hold more such sessions in the future.

President of IGNOU-REWA, AS Chhatwal, said that they would organise more such sessions in future. He said, “Seeing the overwhelming response to the event, we are planning to organise health talks on eye and dental issues.”

“We have also planned a get together of retired employees with their families. Having a good interaction with other people will act as a good moral support for them,” he added.
