Noida: Mahagun Moderne gets 'Bartan Bank' to curb single-use plastic

Driving inspiration from the CEO Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari, the Apartment Owners' Association of Mahagun Moderne, a residential society in Noida's sector 78, has opened a Bartan Bank for its residents.

Talking to CitySpidey, Sandeep Chauhan, President of the AoA said, "We have arranged 1,000 sets including steel plate, glass, bowl, and spoon in each set, anyone can avail these from the AoA free of cost".

He said that a few days ago a bhandara was organized in the society on the occasion of Bhagwan Shri Krishna Chatti in which we had served over a thousand people in aluminum bowls and wooden spoons but were not satisfied with our effort and hence decided to buy a steel utensil stock and use it when required.

The AoA also plans to take more initiatives to minimise the single-use plastic in the society and neighbourhood and has requested other 7X societies to create their own Bartan bank to curb the carbon footprint.
