Other than the lifts, residents alleged that the builder has failed to provide security, housekeeping and other basic facilities.
The residents of ILD Greens, a residential society in sector 37C, are having a tough time due to frequent malfunctioning of lifts in the society. They said that repeated complaints were made to the developer but there was no action.
They said that despite paying hefty common area maintenance charges, the developer is not providing basic maintenance to the society, especially the lifts.
In this regard, a group of residents tried to file a complaint with the police against the builder, but they refused to intervene, stating that the matter isn't in their purview.
Vipin Chauhan, a resident of the society said, “Lifts are not working properly as the developer wasn’t maintaining them. It’s matter of concern as it can lead to a fatal accident. When we approached the police regarding this, they refused to take any action as no accident has taken place yet.”
He further informed that the lifts were malfunctioning most of the time in tower 3. And for a month now, a lift in the tower 4 was not working.
The residents also met the PWD minister, Rao Narbir Singh, and apprised him about the matter. He said that a meeting between residents and the department of town and country planning officials would soon be done.
Vikas Munjal, another resident of the society said, "We are living under fear. My flat is on the ninth floor and lifts are like the basic necessity for us, especially for the senior citizens and children."
