To check the violations, the government has installed cameras at various locations in Delhi.
Ever since the Motor Vehicle Amendment Act came into effect from September 1 this year, the violators are paying heavy penalties for jumping red light, over speeding, driving without a license or Pollution Under Control certificate (PUC).
Meanwhile, the government is improving its road infrastructure and has installed 25 new cameras to detect over speeding at 12 locations in Delhi. The cameras are in operation from September 15.
Below are the locations where you have to be a little more cautious to avoid a challan slip for over-speeding:
- National Highway 24: Two cameras have been installed between CWG Village and Yamuna Bank.
- ISBT to ITO: Two cameras have been installed at opposite of DTC depot and under bridge.
- Outer Ring Road: Two each (both ways) from Wazirabad to Bhalaswa Dairy, at Nirankari Ground and one before Mukarba Chowk.
- Pusa Road: Two cameras installed, one each at both carriageway near Shiv Hanuman Mandir and two between Dhaula Kuan to Naraina, one each at both carriageway near metro pillar no. 45 and 52.
- Near JNU: Three cameras have been installed on Aruna Asaf Ali road from JNU to Masoodpur, one each at Neela Hauz and both carriageway near IIMC (JNU)
- Nelson Mandela Road: Two cameras have been installed, one each at both carriageway near Maruti Suzuki Ambiance mall.
- DND Flyover: Two near toll office Yamuna river, one each at both carriageway.
- GT Karnal Road: Four cameras have been installed on National Highway 1.
- August Kranti Marg: One each at both carriageway near Krishi Kunj.
Other than this, cameras to detect red light jumping was installed at 10 strategic positions in Delhi.
These were installed at Moti Bagh (Shanti path rig road crossing), Bhikaji Cama Place (Africa Avenue Ring road crossing), Nauroji Nagar (Vinayak Marg Ring Road), Andrews Ganj Ring Road, Moolchand Ring Road, Lal Sai market near Lajpat Nagar Ring Road, Captain Gaur Marg Ring Road, Sriniwaspuri Ring Road and Sarai Kale Khan Ring Road.
While Camera installation is under process in the tenth spot at Mayapuri Chowk.
As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, Maruti Udyog Limited has arranged and installed these cameras.
