GDA conducts inspection at Saviour Park following residents’ complaint

Officials of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) carried out an inspection at Saviour Park, a housing society in Mohan Nagar, on Sunday after residents of the society complained to the authority about lack of amenities and poor infrastructure.

The inspection was done by engineers of zone 7 of the authority on the complaints made by the residents.

“We have noted the problems after inspection. It will be discussed when we will call the residents and builder for a meeting,” an official from the authority said.

The residents complained that the basement of the society was in a poor condition. “You will see seepage everywhere. Whenever it rains, the basement turns into a lake”, said Nripendra Kumar, a resident of the society.

The residents started living in the society in 2015. They claimed that four years have been passed and they are yet to get basic amenities promised by the builder.

“We don’t have swimming pool and club facility in the society,” said Ajay Ojha, a resident of the society.

The residents also complained that the builder was not allowing the formation of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA). In the absence of AOA, they are not able to put pressure on the builder.

“We don’t have AOA in our society. We are not in any authoritative position to fight for our rights with the builder. We are just left at his mercy,” complained Kumar.

The residents claimed that they raised the matter of formation of AOA several times to GDA as well. “GDA also told the builder to form AOA but he didn’t comply,” Kumar claimed.
