FONRWA writes to CM demanding rollback of power tariff hike

Office bearers of Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations on Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding rollback of hiked power tariff and security deposit.

They told that they have been strongly opposing the hiked power tariff which was imposed on them. They are demanding rollback of the increased power tariff.

Yogendra Sharma, President of FONRWA said that they handed over the memorandum of demand to Shailendra Mishra, City Magistrate, Noida, for passing on their demand to the CM for consideration.

He said, “Several residents have complained that they have received notices by the power distribution corporation for deposit of the increased security charge with the corporation. But they are opposing it strongly as the imposition of new power tariff is not justifiable.”

The letter states that the residents of Noida are agitated over 12.5 per cent hike of power tariff in different categories of domestic consumers. It said that the increase is not fair.

Sharma informed that the federation is also planning to convene a joint meeting with chief engineer of public distribution corporation and residents to convey their problems due to increase of power tariff.

He said, “The corporation dispatched notices to several residents informing them to deposit increased security amount, which is effective from September 12. But we are opposing it strongly.”

He told that if their demanding is not met, they would meet with CM seeking his intervention for rollback of recent hike of power tariff and security deposit. He said that increase in security deposit varies from customer to customer.
