Noida Industrial Development Authority on Thursday cancelled the allotment of a plot to a private developer for developing a group housing project in Sector 98 for non payment of dues.

Officials of the authority said the cancellation was done on instructions of Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority.

The authority had allotted the plot to Dwelling Developer Private Limited for construction of Sports City, an under construction group housing project in Sector 98. But it failed to clear its dues despite being served three notices.

The authority issued the first notice to the developer in 2017 for clearing the dues who  responded to the notice and requested the authority to allow payment of dues in installments.

After being issued a second notice in 2019 to pay in installments, the developer failed to clear the dues. The authority issued a third notice on 16 July, 2019 for clearing the dues, but the developer failed again.

The developer owes Rs 1,57, 07,60, 007, which is a cumulative figure of pending installments and lease rent, against the allotment of the plot for group housing project which is to be paid till September 2019.

Earlier, the authority had initiated similar action against some defaulters of group housing and commercial projects. Plot allotment were cancelled and defaulters were issued recovery certificates.
