Aiming to improve cleanliness and reduce usage of single-use plastic bags, Noida Industrial Development Authority is organising awareness events in running metro trains to educate the riders.

A team of artists was deployed on Aqua Line between Noida and Greater Noida for creating awareness among riders.

The team is performing 'Nukkad Natak' in metro coaches of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to sensitise commuters in maintaining cleanliness and avoiding usages of single-use plastic bags in their routine lives.

Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority and Managing Director of NMRC, said that an awareness about blanket ban on usages of single-use plastic carry bags and cleanliness is being created for commuters travelling in metro coaches.

The authority is also holding shows outside the metro stations to educate commuters.

One show was held recently outside the Sector 71 metro station in Noida. It attracted commuters who were passing by the location. They stopped their vehicles for a while to watch the show.

Artists, performing the shows, give messages that it is everyone's responsibility to maintain cleanliness and reduce the usage of single-use polythene bags.
