Indirapuram: At long last, Sunrise Greens residents get parking slots

After waiting for years, the residents of Sunrise Greens, a housing society in Indirapuram, have finally got their parking slots on Sunday. The resident welfare association (RWA) of the society convened a meeting and allotted the residents their respective space for parking their vehicles.

President of the RWA Amit Choudhary said over 500 slots were designated to the residents in the meeting. “This,” he said, “is 50 percent of the total parking strength. We will keep designating the remaining slots in coming days.”

Choudhary further said that a committee was constituted to work out a plan for the distribution of remaining slots.

“We worked for four months to come up with this solution. The constant tiff with the residents over the parking area was creating a chaotic environment in the society. The allotment of parking slots will solve this problem once and for all,” he averred.

Choudhary also said that for the fair allotment of the parking slots, registration dates of the flats were taken as a base. “Since everyone wants parking near the lift, we thought of registration date of the flats as an eligibility factor. Older the registration date, nearer is the slot of parking base,” he added.

Suman Pal, ex-president of the RWA, pointed out that Allotment of parking slots is primarily the duty of the builder. “Since the builder left the society three years ago without allocating parking spaces to the residents, the RWA had to step in,” Pal added.
