GDA inspection prompts developer to heed to Saviour Park’s woes

The monsoon brought in its wake the twin problems of water-logging and seeping for Saviour Park, a housing society in Mohan Nagar. Exasperated by the double whammy, the residents of the society had no option but to suffer in silence as the developer was not responsive to their problems. But an inspection by the officials of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) changed the scenario in favour of the residents.

Post inspection, the developer convened a meeting with the residents on Saturday to discuss key issues regarding maintenance of the infrastructure of the buildings and assured them of an immediate solution. The residents took up with the builder the issue of seepage in the building and water-logging in the basement. The developer promised to resolve the issues post-monsoon.

Siddharth Modi, director of SAVFAB Buildtech Pvt Ltd, told, developing agency of the society, said, “Due to rains, development work in the basement could not be commenced. It will be initiated once the monsoon is over.”

The residents also raised the issue of lack of surveillance inside the lifts and its faulty flooring. Responding to the complaint, Modi assured that installation of CCTV cameras inside the lifts and the work of proper flooring would be started soon, officials said.

Besides, the residents also raised the issue of the withering of paint from the outer facade of the society, allotment of parking in open spaces and constitution of Apartments Owners Association (AOA) in the society.

“The developer has accepted the demand of renovation of the building and on the matter of allotment of parking in open spaces, we were told that it was done as per the layout plan. We will crosscheck this claim of the developer,” the official told.
The official also told that the developer has accepted the demand of the constitution of AOA. “He (developer) assured that he will start the registration process of AOA soon,” he added.

Besides, a joint inspection by residents and developer is decided on coming Saturday. “We will jointly inspect the problematic areas and will discuss the methods of how they can be resolved. We will set the deadline for completing these tasks. Also, a committee to monitor these works will be constituted by the residents,” told Nripendra Kumar, a resident of the society who represented residents’ side in the meeting.
