Gurugram: DTCP help sought in construction of road connecting NBCC Green View

Residents of NBCC Green View, a society in Sector 37-D, wrote to the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) and sought its help in the construction of approach road to the society. A delegation of the residents recently met the DTP RS Batth and apprised him about the inconvenience they are facing in the absence of such a road.

According to the residents, the developer has deposited the Infrastructure Development Charges (IDC) and the External Development Charges (EDC) with HUDA in 2010 nine years ago, yet the society remained unapproachable due to lack of proper passage.

SC Kaushik, vice-president of the society said, “The builder has deposited Rs 45 crore with HUDA towards IDC and EDC in 2010. But no development work has been taken so far. We have made several representations to the GMDA, HUDA, CM Window all in vain. Everyone is passing the buck to another and no one is ready to take responsibility and solve our problems."

Around 400 residents of the society are forced to travel through the swamp of land to reach the main sector road.

Underlining the importance of the road, Neeraj Kumar Gupta, general secretary of the society, said, "In the absence of approach road, elders and children suffer the most. Since school buses don't come to our society, children are forced to walk through the passage. At the time of an emergency, it is very difficult to reach on time."

He further said, "The society got its occupancy certificate in 2017, but till date, there is no road connecting the society. It is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that the road is constructed as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, officials from the Department of Town and Planning assured the residents of action in the matter.
