People of Dwarka observed World Car Free Day with a message to save fuel, save environment.
An event was held on the roads converging at the chowk (circle) of Sector 5/6/10/11 to mark the day. On the occasion residents of the sub city actively participated in singing and dancing programmes conveying the theme of the day.
All the roads were blocked to facilitate the proceedings that lasted four hours in the evening, from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Organised by the Federation of Cooperative Group Housing Society, Dwarka with the support of the local police and traffic police and Shuttle service, the event was a runaway success.
The star attraction of the event was the chief guest, DCP, Dwarka, Anto Alphonse. He arrived at the venue with a team comprising Additional DCP RP Meena, ACP Rajendra Singh on bicycles.
People present on the occasion welcomed the honourable guests with the message, save fuel, save environment, a slogan given by a team of Dwarka Distric Police.
Entertainment programmes and other cultural activities were highlight of the event.
