Gurugram: Taksila Heights elects new RWA

The residents of Taksila Heights, a residential society in Sector 37C, on Sunday elected a new team for their resident welfare association (RWA). 

While all office bearers for the RWA were elected with clear majority, contest for the post of president ended in a tie. 

The two contenders for the post of president, BK Singh and DP Kaushik, tied for the top job with 84 votes each. 

According to the RWA officials, the district registrar will now decide if there is a need for re-election, toss or draw for the post of president.

Other office bearers of the new RWA are:

SS Yadav - vice-president 

Vikas Bansal - general secretary 

Yogesh Upadhaya - joint secretary

SK Puri – treasurer; and 

Rahul Bansal & Atul Gandhi - executive member.

The election was concluded peacefully under the supervision of Returning Officer Somnath Chhabra. During a six-hour long polling, 186 of the 276 electorate cast their votes. The results of the elections were declared by the returning officer at 7pm. 

Speaking to CitySpidey, General Secretary Vikas Bansal said, “We have done a lot of work for the development of the society and will continue to do so. There are many issues that we will try to resolve on priority basis. These include renovation of the internal road of the society, improvement of existing STP system, installation of CCTV system and enhancement of security.”
 
He further said, “We will pursue the matter of sewage connection with the concerned authorities. Also, we will pursue the pending case related to the builder in HRERA.”
