Noida: Homes-121 adopts 'lift please' initiative

Taking a cue from Elite Homz and Prateek Wisteria, high rises in Sector 77, residents of Homes-121, a high rise society in Sector 121, adopted the 'Lift Please' scheme, on Monday to minimise carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles.

Under the scheme, all the residents travelling in a particular direction would take lift in one vehicle.

Dinesh Singh, president of the apartment owners association (AOA), Homes-121, said they came up with the initiative to provide help to the residents, especially senior citizens and women. People can ask for lift from the residents going in their direction.

He said, "We have installed a 'lift please' signage at the exit gate of the society where residents without vehicles can wait to take a lift. They can stand near the signage while those with a car passing by the gate and going in the same direction can offer a lift to them.”

The residents have started this initiative with an aim to contain air pollution and reduce the number of cars on the roads.

Singh said, "We believe that the initiative would help in reducing the air pollution and getting many cars off the roads. Since the residents would travel with fellow residents, therefore the number of cars going out from the society would come down.”

Elite Homz and Prateek Wisteria are successfully running the scheme.
