Shri Ram Mintra Mandal, a Ramlila organising committee of Noida, is leaving no stone unturned in  celebrating this year's Ramlila at Sector 62 ground at a grand scale. Preparations for the folk play are in full swing.

The committee informed that a 100 feet long, 50-feet wide and 6 feet high stage is being erected for the play. The play would commence on September 29 and will be performed everyday till it will culminate on October 9 with the burning of Ravana.

Munna Kumar Sharma, general secretary of the Shri Ram Mitra Mandal, said that they would take out Shri Ram baraat (procession) on October 3.

“It (the baraat) will set off from Lord Hanuman temple in Sector 20 and culminate at Sector 62, where the play will be staged, after passing through several residential pockets,” he said.

The committee hired skilled craftsmen to prepare a 70-foot high effigy of Ravana. The heights of the effigies of Kumbhkarna and Meghnad are going to be of 65 feet each in height . These effigies will be set ablaze at the end of Ramlila to mark victory of good over evil.

Sharma said the committee had planned to make elaborate arrangements for the audience. He informed that there would be seating arrangement for more than 3,000 guests.

Several LED screens will also be installed at venue for the audience to have a closer look at the stage. “Considering safety aspect of hosting such a huge gathering, CCTV cameras will also be installed at vantage points,” he informed.
