Dwarka's wait to end soon with a dream park adorning its landscape

The long-awaited project of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Bharat Vandana Park, is finally going to be developed in Sector 20 of Dwarka by National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) on 200 acres of land.

According to a DDA official, the project has already been planned. The designs and landscapes for the project have been approved. Sources said the financial assessment would be done for the project by the DDA.

The park will be one of its kind with depiction of cultural and natural heritage of all the states in India. As per information, a mini India will be recreated at the park.

One of the officials of the DDA informed that the park will be in the shape of a Lotus having nine petals.

Each petal will exhibit different theme. The park will also have recreational zone, fun zone, lake view restaurant, environment zone, tree walk zone etc.

“As per the plans, visitors would be able to walk from one tree to the other at the tree walk zone. The trees will be connected to each other through bridges. In that zone, no one would be allowed to walk on ground. Under the tree walk trail, there would be a biodiversity area to give a feel of forest,” said an official on condition of anonymity.

Bharat Vandana Project would have maximum green area and it would largely be based on sustainability as far as water conservation is concerned. 17 per cent part of the park will be having water body of different types and shapes. The largest water body will be at the centre of the park.

“All the eleven water bodies would be connected with boating facilities. People can enjoy boating from one water body to another,” said an official.

He further added, “The park also boasts of effective water conservation system. Water bodies will be having membranes under it so that water could reach to aquifers. There are also 4 dedicated STP plants and under ground reservoir in the park.”

In the project, there would be depiction of 8 wonders of the world. Besides, there would be specific  monuments and geographical replicas like Thar Desert and Ran of Kachh etc. It will be made to make people feel the essence of nature and its beauty.

Different types of vegetation would also be there at the park. Lightings in the shape of trees, flowers and leaves would mesmerise the visitors. Other attractions will be eco-sensitive zones, robotics, ride of trams and toy trains.
