Dwarka serial theft: Police catch three of four accused within 12 hours

Within twelve hours of burglaries on a single night at Sector 10 market in Dwarka, the police could be able to successfully catch hold of three accused in the case on Wednesday. However, their fourth accomplice is still at large but the police is confident that he too would be nabbed soon.

Meanwhile, as per the latest information on the burglaries that the CitySpidey reported on Tuesday, the burglars were said to have targeted four shops, not three as the earlier report suggested.

Following the burglaries, the police launched massive manhunt to track down the culprits. They collected the required information from the CCTV footage, available with them, on which the thieves could be seen breaking into the shops. Eventually they succeeded in nabbing the three accused while the fourth one is still absconding.

Five laptops, one projector, one LCD, one DVR and other expensive items have been recovered from the accused.

According to the police, all the three accused were nabbed from Sector 5 area.

“We are, at present, conducting raids to nab the fourth accused and verifying involvement of the four in the case and other details about how they planned and carried out burglaries,” said police.

On the intervening night of September 23 and 24, the thieves broke open the shutters of the shops and ransacked the premises for cash and expensive items before making good their escape.

The incident has shaken the residents of the area as never before. They are wondering how could such daring robberies take place in such an upmarket area which comes under round-the-clock surveillance.
