GDA selects eight roads to be developed as 'model roads' of the city

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) recently finalised eight roads to be developed as the 'model roads' of the city. These roads have been selected from eight different zones from across the city.

The authority has asked all zonal in-charge to draw an estimate of the finance required for the development of the select roads.

The authority will begin the work with clearance of encroachments on the roads followed by repair work or construction of footpath. It is also planning to install benches for the convenience of the public. With a view to keep the area green, the authority has decided to plant saplings alongside the roads as well as on the central verges.

Officials said a supervisor would be appointed for each zone to keep the zone in-charge updated about their respective roads by posting pictures and videos. They will also look after the maintenance of the developed roads and make sure that the encroachments do not occur again.

Santosh Rai, secretary of GDA said that final decision on the roads would be taken after a departmental meeting. "We will sit in next two-three days and will take the final decision on the roads marked to be developed as model roads," he said.

Following are the names and measurements of the roads to be developed as model roads:
