Commuters can now heave a sigh of relief as the roads in Greater Noida are all set to get a facelift. The roads remained in a very bad shape for far too long. Service roads too are no better. Vehicles plying on the roads raise lot of dust in the air causing hurdles for pedestrians, bikers and cyclists.

The Greater Noida Authority has given its nod to repair of 200 decrepit roads in the city. Soon, tenders will be floated for selection of companies for the job. Once the process is complete the repair work will commence.

On completion of repair, the city is expected to get rid of the dust pollution pervading throughout the city.

One can experience the mess created by the dust partilces in the air at the Kisan Chowk which is one of the busiest places in the city.

The authority conducted a survey to know about the present condition of the roads in the city. A new layer will laid out on a few roads while others will be repaired.

The authority will be spending around Rs 200 crore for this purpose. The Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority, Narendra Bhooshan has already approved the budget for repair works

A senior official requesting not to be named said, “Most of the roads will be repaired in six month's time in Greater Noida.”
