GreNo: Gaur City 6th Avenue gears up for Dandiya night

Residents of Greater Noida's Gaur City 6th Avenue are gearing up for a fun-filled Dandiya night in their society to be held on October 6.

Every year the residents celebrate Navratri with gaiety. This year too, they are planning to celebrate the festival with the same fervour. Women and children have already started rehearsing for their group performances at the night.

Talking to CitySpidey, Anita Prajapati, a resident said, “The residents involve themselves in such gatherings to be part of the social intercourse. By participating in the festivities jointly, we aim to build team spirit.”
 

She said that during the festival, awareness for eliminating single-use plastic would also be spread. “We are also planning to seek a pledge from the residents to give up using plastic and other things which are harmful to the environment.

“Every year, the residents of the society participate in some way or the other in organising and the Navratri festival and the Dandiya night is something that everyone looks forward to," Anita added.

The event will see a large gathering. There will be DJ, dance competitions, variety of food stalls, creative selfie corners and stalls of jewellery, cloth, decorative items among others.
