The authority owes Rs 9.50 crore dues on the group which was not paid even after repeated reminders.

The Noida Authority on Tuesday carried out raids in two malls under its anti-plastic drive at Sector 62 in Noida. Officials of the authority imposed a total penalty of around Rs 4.32 lakh on 15 outlets for using plastic in violation of its guidelines.

The officials from the health department raided shops of Great India Place (GIP) Mall and DLF Mall.

At GIP Mall, Mondarin Trail Restaurant, Sagar Ratna, Barista and Nazeer Foods were fined Rs 25,000 each and a fine of Rs 10,000 was slapped on WOW Momos. The other outlets were jointly fined Rs 1.20 lakh.

At DLF Mall, Dominos, Burger King, Tikka Town and Nazeer foods were fined Rs 25,000 each while Tandoori Village was let off with a fine of Rs 5,000. The other outlets were jointly fined Rs 1.05 lakh.

The team also conducted raids at Sector 62 market in Noida. They imposed a fine of Rs 75,000 on Sandwich King, Rs 50,000 on Munshi Cafe, Rs 40,000 on Alam Biryani, Rs 30,000 on Sama Chicken and Rs 5,000 on Sajid Biryani. 

Other smaller outlets were also fined amounts varying from Rs 500 to 1000.

The authority has set October 2 deadline for total ban of single-use plastic.
