IEC expert Dr. Harbhajan Singh, senior sanitation inspector Bijendra Sharma and sanitation inspector Sandeep Kumar along with other MCG officials took part in the shramdaan to collect plastic from the vicinity. They also created an awareness against the use of plastic and polythene.
Speaking on the occasion, Indrajit Kulharia encouraged the use of eco-friendly bags instead of polythene and undertook a pledge to eradicate the use of plastic.
He said, “Plastic and polythene are very dangerous for the environment as it not only pollutes the environment but also causes serious health hazards, therefore it should be discouraged.”
