Bharat Jagruk Nagrik Sangathan, a social organisation, organised Olympiad,  for underprivileged children of Sector 93, Noida, on Sunday, September 29 to mark 150th Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. 

The Olympiad was a test of knowledge and skill of the participating students in maths and science. Top scorers of the test were awarded with attractive prizes by Captain (retired) Vikas Gupta, chairman of the Agriculture Research Council of UP. He distributed competitive exam books and stationary like note books, pen and pencil among those present at the Olympiad.

Addressing on the occasion, Gupta apprised the children about the relevance of the ideals of the Mahatma in today's day and time. He exhorted them to adopt the time-tested ideals of truth and non-violence in their lives. 

Shailendra Baranwal, president of the organisation, said this was the third consecutive year of organising the Olympiad. The organisation also holds a quiz on the life of Mahatma Gandhi for children.
