Shipra Krishna Vista: Handover of maintenance to third party annulled

Terming handing over of maintenance services to third party illegal, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) annuled the move of Shipra Krishna Vista, Indirapuram.

In a letter written to Mohit Singh, director of Shipra Estate Limited (SEL), the authority said the move is a violation of the bylaws of UP Apartment Act, 2010.

Consequently, the authority directed the SEL to cancel the contract of the new maintenance agency and reinstate the earlier process.

The developer of the highrise had handed over the operation of maintaining of the society to an agency – Godavari Firms and Services Pvt Ltd. This handover had caused disquiet between the maintenance  management and the residents two weeks ago.

On September 16, a dispute erupted between the residents and the newly appointed maintenance agency of the society when the maintenance staff refused to accept cheques for monthly maintenance charge issued in the name of the developer.

The agency demanded that the residents issued cheques in its name.

Till last month, the residents used to issue cheques in the name of Shipra Estate Limited.

The situation became grim when the residents spotted two bouncers inside the society.

The residents perceived it as a threat and demanded them to leave the premises. Later, the matter reached to the police.

While the residents registered complained against the maintenance agency, the agency complained against the residents as well. Deepankar Kumar, manager at the maintenance agency, said that a few residents, who had issue with the cheque, misbehaved with the maintenance staff.
