Garbage piles in Dwarka expose SDMC's war on plastic

A pile of garbage found on the road right in front of the Sector 4 market in Dwarka is a tell tale proof of the fact that South Delhi Municipal Corporation is not serious about its commitment to ensure plastic-free city.

The heap of garbage consists of discarded single-use plastic in large quantity.

Presence of plastic discard in the litter shows that the single-use plastic in the city is in use despite being banned in the city. Thermocol plates can also be spotted at the spot.

Dumped in the middle of the service lane the waste is causing inconvenience to people. It is left unattended despite the festive season when people visit the market in large number.

The municipal corporation had launched a campaign to free the city from plastic. The piled waste blasts the tall claims made by the corporation to free the city from the plastic menace.
