Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will be laying the foundation for many developmental projects of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on October 7 in Dwarka. The projects include Golf Course, Sports Complex, Foot Over Bridge, Airport Drain, Cycle Track and Utsav Pandal (a place to conduct social functions).

The approximate cost for all the developmental projects is Rs 300 crore.

The foundation of the Sports Complex will be laid by the minister at Sector 8 in Dwarka. It will be a centre of excellence for various sports disciplines such as wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, judo and kabaddi. The project is expected to be completed in 24 months at a cost of Rs 66 crore.

Besides, another sports complex will be developed in Sector 23. It will be dedicated to the game of football. It will also be completed in 24 months with a cost of Rs 39 crore.

A cycle track is also proposed in Sector 11 with a cost of Rs 9 crore. It is likely to be completed in April next year. Moreover, foundation will also be laid for four foot over bridges with a cost of Rs 12 crore. They will be completed in August 2020.

The foot over bridges will provide safe passage to the 16,200 pedestrians every day. It will reduce traffic congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow. It will provide pedestrian connectivity between Sector 1 and sector 7; Madhu Vihar and Sector 4&5; NSIT and Sulahkul Mandir; and District Court and General Hospital.

An 'Utsav Pandal' is also proposed to be built in Sector 10 with a cost of Rs 6 crore. It will be a facility for the community to conduct social functions and community activities. The target date for completion of the project is June 2020. 

Among other projects, foundation will be laid for an airport drain at Dwarka. The drain will start from Rewari Railway Line and will connect to trunk drain number 2. It will have a discharge capacity of about 70,000 litres per second. The project is likely to be completed in October 2021 at a cost of Rs 98 crore.

The cost for golf course will be Rs 62 crore and it is likely to be completed in 24 months. It will be an international golf course with 18 holes.
