RESIDENT SPEAK: Gaur City 1 resident complains about dog waste in parks

As a resident of Gaur City 1, I feel lucky to have access to three nearby parks for walking and indulging in leisurely activities. But, whenever residents of the society go for a walk in the morning all they witness is dog poop on the pathway. This causes lot of inconvenience and disquiet.

Our society and in fact the entire Greater Noida, for that matter, has no guidelines for pet owners, like that in Ghaziabad, where a penalty is levied on the owners of pets for any litter in public places.

The authorities here should also implement a compulsory registration system for the pets like the one in Ghaziabad which would ease many of our problems. It would also be good for the animals too who at several instances seem to be neglected.

Residents of Gaur City use common areas like parks, passageway and even parking lot for their pets to roam around and defecate. They don’t even bother to clear the poop or cover it with mud so that others are not inconvenienced by its stench. Not only the sight is revolting but the poop left unattended also is a health hazard for the people who come in contact with it.

Municipal vehicles should also keep a check on the street dog menace. If not every month, at least once in three months they should carry out a survey of the dogs. These dogs not only litter the area but create panic among people.

There have been several instances where I have gone out for an early morning walk and had to use my mobile’s flashlight fearing that I might step on dog poop. The area is in a horrible condition every morning until it is cleaned by the maintenance staff.

Through CitySpidey, I wish to request all pet owners and animal lovers to please consider the convenience of other people also who live in the vicinity and build a clean and hygienic society together. ‘Let's create a healthy environment to live in’.
