A great paintjob there, YNG!

What Ghaziabad authorities couldn't do in months, these young guns from Youth Network Ghaziabad did this Sunday afternoon: They removed posters and painted two pillars of the Delhi Gate flyover near Thakur Dwara, and see how brilliant they look now!

A great paintjob there, YNG!

In a bid to make people appreciate the importance of keeping public spaces clean, Youth Network Ghaziabad cleaned up two pillars at the Delhi Gate flyover near Thakur Dwara, which were plastered with advertisements and posters.

The youth group conducted the cleanliness drive on Sunday, from 3 pm to about 7.30 pm.

Members of the group removed posters and other advertisements from the pillars and repainted them in vibrant new colours. They also cleaned up the surrounding area.

Mayank Chaudhry, the president of the group, told City Spidey that the pillars gave the flyover in particular and the area in general a very shabby appearance.

Group members also said that, in collaboration with the GDA, they wished to clean up and paint the remaining pillars as well.

Ashu Verma, the mayor of Ghaziabad, participated in the event and lent Youth Network Ghaziabad his full support.

The event was organised to spread awareness of how important it is to keep public places clean.
