The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulation Authority (UP-RERA) summoned promoters of 22 projects in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida over delay in handing over possession of properties to buyers. Sources disclosed that the real estate authority has identified 397 such projects in NCR before convening a meeting with the said promoters at its Greater Noida office.
The sources said the meeting will push for the handing over of possession of the properties to home buyers. The developers failed to comply with UP-RERA’s directive so far despite repeated reminders from the authority giving tough time to the rightful owners of the properties.
“Action in the case was necessitated due to dilatory tactics of the promoters. They failed to meet the stipulated deadline for the transfer of the properties,” revealed an official on condition of anonymity.
The sources said that the promoters have already been issued show-cause notices asking for the reasons for non-compliance of the court order and were told to furnish a suitable reply to the authority.
The defaulters from the first phase of the meeting will be imposed penalties while rest of the promoters will be called for next meeting.
