Residents of Gaur Sportswood, a high rise residential society in Sector 79, Noida, are worried over recent outbreak of denue at the society. They complained that as many as five cases of dengue were reported from the society in past one week.
Residents said this could have been prevented if the local administration had initiated action for the same. They alleged that officials had not done anti-larva spray in their residential pocket. “If they would have done it, the outbreak could have been avoided,” one of the residents said.
Many residents were sceptical that the outbreak had happened because of the rain water stagnating at a vacant plot opposite to the society. They said that it has become a mosquito breeding ground.
As per them, huge water logging can be seen at the vacant plot which was originally earmarked for developing sports facility.
Currently, many residents are suffering from dengue-like symptoms in the society.
The cases of dengue were detected by private laboratories. However, the health department did not confirm the figure. “Many private doctors confirmed dengue cases, but they did not forward data for preparing record,” officials told.
