GreNo: Surajpur site C roads turn death trap, authority yet to act

The main road of Surajpur site C in Greater Noida has long been neglected by the Greater Noida Authority. With the electric poles installed a year ago have not got power connection till date and the roads here are broken locals have hard time commuting.
No wonder accidents here have become an everyday reality. Commuters dread treading the dilapidated roads in night when it is pitch-dark in the entire area while negotiating the broken roads in the day is no less agonising either.
Several incidents of snatching and other criminal activities have taken place here at night when the area in the dark becomes a haven for antisocial elements and miscreants.

Sujeet Sharma, a resident of Migsun Greens Mansion, a high rise which connects to this main road, said, “We have to be extra cautious while driving, especially in the night, as the roads are broken. There is an open pit in which my car was stuck twice.”
The area has several high rises, including Migsun Greens, Shivalik homes, Design Arc and others, with an occupancy of two thousand plus families who require to use the main road to commute on a daily basis.

Several residents have approached the authority to get the road repaired and the street illuminated with stamp pole lamps without much success. A few lights were installed in front of Migsun Greens after repeated request leaving out the rest of the road in darkness.
Harsh, a resident of Shivalik homes, said many a serious accident has taken place here when motorists took wrong lane to avoid a broken patch of road while the alternative too turned out to be broken.

Two-wheelers often skid on the potholed roads. Waterlogging adds to the woes of the commuters during rains. Apart from becoming nonnegotiatble for commuters, the potholed roads become breeding ground for mosquitoes during the dengue season.
There are no signages on the road indicating directions. With the green belt out the roads here have become rough and bumpy.
