Encroachment has rendered the Gheza-Bhangel road in Noida almost nonnegotiable for commuters especially during peak hours. Commuters face enormous inconvenience as shopkeepers and autorickshaw drivers obstruct smooth traffic flow.
While the shopkeepers place their wares on display on a portion of the road, the autorickshaw drivers park their vehicles alongside the road at whim leaving little space for passage of traffic leading to permanent jam on the road.
Flex boards and banners are pinned up on public property like poles and dividers. Since the market has no parking rules, visitors, who come for shopping, park their vehicles on the road.
Speaking to CitySpidey, Sana Jawed, a commuter, said, “This is a short cut to my workplace. But at times the traffic jam is such that one gets stuck up here for almost an hour.”
