Gaur City: Agitated residents protest against maintenance charge hike yet again

After seeing no positive response to the protest against maintenance charge hike held last week, the residents ran out of patience and carried out a protest march against the arbitrariness of the builder at 14th Avenue of Gaur City in Greater Noida West on Sunday.

More than hundred residents marched from inside the society to the gate while shouting slogans against the builder. The protesters included senior citizens, ladies and children.

They also raised several other issues which are prevalent in the society. They complained about the issue of ongoing construction causing dust pollution in the society.

They said that there has been no action to check mosquito breeding and garbage dumping at the basement of the society.

A resident said, “The builder has only fulfilled half of promises made during booking of flats. He is also overlooking the norms of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).”

He complained that the builder has increased maintenance charge despite not giving facilities like club and swimming pool as promised in the layout plan.

Another resident, Mahavir Dason said, “We want to give the maintenance charge as desired by the builder. But he will have to fulfil the promises made regarding the facilities during the booking of flats.”

The President of Noida Estate Flat Owners Main Association, Annu Khan said, “The residents were complaining about several issues for a long time. We have apprised Manoj Gaur about the residents’ issues. We asked him to think over it and provide solution.”

There are total 5,300 flats in the society. At present, only 1,700 families are living in the society.
