Protest in Sector 137 against chemical elimination of trees

Around 25 residents including homemakers, children and senior citizens on Sunday staged a protest rally in Sector 137, Noida against the management of an upcoming private school for allegedly causing damage to the environment of their residential pockets.
The residents say several full-grown trees on a roadside green belt in the sector have dried down under the effect of the chemical allegedly sprayed by the management of the private school.
The school is being developed on a plot facing a piece of land which is originally a green belt as per the master plan. The motive behind the management's move to damage the trees could have been expansion of the school building by capturing the parcel of land.
The residents concede that the management had permission from the concerned authority to shift two trees from the green belt to other locations. But they are trying to capture the entire parcel of land rather than relocating those two trees.
Now that a lot of trees are already dried up due to chemical spray, the residents alleged that the management is now out to fell the remaining trees to clear the area of whatever greenery left out.
