Sector 46 elected a new team for its resident welfare association (RWA). While Raj Kumar Yadav was elected president of the RWA, Balbir Singh Lohchab and Gopichand Dua were elected to the posts of vice-president and general secretary respectively. The other office bearers are: Praveen Kapoor, joint secretary, Satya Vir Sharma, treasurer.

Devender Kumar Rajal, Hari Ram Yadav, Harish Chandra, HV Ramesh, Jagdish Chand, Lalita Yadav, Rakesh, Sadanand Dua and Sumit Prasad Singh were elected as executive members of the RWA.

Polling held on Sunday for the RWA witnessed a huge turnout with residents enthusiastically participating in the election by casting their vote for their respective candidates for the 14 posts of office bearers of the RWA. 

The polling began at 9 am and continued till 4 pm in which out of 637 electorate, 537 cast their vote. Counting of votes was done thereafter and the results were declared by the returning officer in the evening. 
Speaking to CitySpidey, RK Yadav conveyed his gratitude to residents for reposing faith in him once again. 

He said, “We have been carrying out development work in the sector for years and will be committed to do so in future. We are planning to induct in-house services like carpenter and electrician for the convenience of the residents. Also, we will upgrade our CCTV surveillance system and renovate the entrance gates of the sector. Encroachment by adjoining slum dwellers will be dealt with on priority in coordination with civic authorities while up-gradation and repairing of storm water drain and sewer line are on our agenda.”

He further informed that the RWA would soon initiate work on building a playground for children to encourage sports culture among the young.
