The new face of Niho Scottish

Niho Scottish Gardens, a residential society in Ahinsa Khand 2, Indirapuram, got its new five-member AOA on Saturday.

The voting was conducted in the presence of election officers Harbansh Rao, Priyanka Jha and Bela Hedao. Two observers from the FedAOA, Alok Kumar and VK Sharma, were also present.

The election was conducted in the society office and lasted from 8 am to 4 pm in the afternoon. Sixty-five per cent of the residents cast their votes. The results were declared on Saturday itself, and five out of eight candidates were elected as new members of the executive body. They are DK Maurya, Pankaj Kumar, Dimple Balwani, Avishek Verma and RK Tawa.

A meeting of the new executive body was held on Sunday evening at the society office to decide the allocation of posts. Kapil Singhal was chosen as the president for the second time, Pankaj Kumar as the vice-president, DK Maurya as the general secretary, Piyush Lal as the treasurer, Dimple Balwani as the assistant secretary, DK Saini as the assistant treasurer and Amit Gupta, Pradeep, RK Tawa and Abhishek Verma as board members of the new AOA.

Speaking to City Spidey, Singhal said that the society was forcibly taken over from the builder, who had failed to provide several amenities, such as the clubhouse, to residents. The major issues have been taken care of and now other aspects of the society will be taken up. “During this term, we will look into things such as upkeep of the society, and replacement and maintenance of amenities,” Singhal added.
