East Delhi to get four sanitary napkin vending machines soon

It is often seen that women find it difficult to get access to basic sanitation and healthcare facilities. To address this, four sanitary napkin vending machines will be installed in East Delhi area. 

Constructions of four toilets will soon start where sanitary napkin vending machine will be installed.

This would be happening for the first time in East Delhi. Earlier, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) had installed these machines in toilets.

Apart from the vending machine, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has also been signed for incinerators (waste management device) as well.

The areas for building toilets have also been earmarked. 

Yogendra Singh Mann, the spokesperson for North Delhi and East Delhi corporations, said, “Under sanitation campaign, we are trying to make Delhi cleaner. East Delhi is not too far from achieving this objective.”

“Under a public-private partnership model, four toilets will be built with installation of sanitary napkin vending machine and incinerators. This will be beneficial for women who do not have access to it. It will help in cleaning the environment,”
