Gurugram police arrests gardener for sexually assaulting maid

Gurugram police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old gardener for allegedly sexually assaulting a maid in DLF Phase 3. She was working as a domestic help at DLF Phase 3.

On the complaint of victim, DLF Phase-3 police station filed an FIR mentioning charges of rape.

According to the police, the whole matter came to light on Sunday when the man allegedly barged into her room and sexually assaulted her.

As per the information, she was alone in the room when the incident took place. The man ran away from the place after assaulting the maid. Her maternal aunt, with whom she were living, was not present at the time of the incident. She had gone for work.

The maid shared her ordeal with her aunt and brother. She also informed her employer who reported the incident to the police.

After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and brought the woman with them. The victim gave her statement in presence of a legal advisor.

The victim belongs to the state of Jharkhand. She was working in the society for a long time. The police informed that the man also works at the same society.

The accused gardener was identified as Pujaram Yadav who hails from Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh.

Police spokesperson Subhash Bokan said that the accused had confessed to his crime. “He was booked under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase 3 police station,” the police said.
