Working women living in the twin cities of Uttar Pradesh, Noida and Greater Noida, will now be able to register their complaint against sexual harassment or gender discrimination at work place at an instant. All they need to do is just touch a button on their mobile phones whenever they have a complaint.
A mobile application has been developed by an IT company under corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The move is in compliance with Supreme Court directives, known as Vishaka Guidelines, for providing solution to complaints regarding gender discrimination and sexual harassment at work place.
The online application is expected to speed up redressal of grievances of working women related to gender discrimination, including sexual harassment, at work places.
According to officials of the district administration, Gautam Buddha Nagar, local MLA Pankaj Singh has been invited to unveil the app on October 18 in the presence of B N Singh, district magistrate, and Vaibhav Krishna, SSP.
The launch ceremony would be held at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector 6, Noida.
The administration has also invited senior officers working in different organisations in the two cities to make them understand how to use the application for effectively monitoring of the complaints received from their organisations.
The app would be an effective communication tool in organisations having more than 10 employees.
