Noida Authority is leaving no stone unturned to ensure better air quality in the city. Now, it has moved towards using electric cars at the office. It has roped in a private company which will be supplying electric cars for office use.
The officials will be using the electric cars for office purposes. A company, Energy Efficiency Services Pvt Ltd, has rented five electric cars to the authority for stipulated period of six years.
According to agreement, each car is going to cost Rs 22,500 per month plus goods and service tax to the authority for availing the services. It says that usage of these cars would be a step towards greener and cleaner environment.
A fast charging point has been set up at administrative building of the authority and it takes around an hour to fully charge the battery of the car.
The authority has also identified five places for setting up electric car charging points in different locations of the city. “This information has been passed on to the company for speeding up installation of the charging points on those locations,” official informed.
