The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) conducted an inspection of Aura Chimera, a housing condominium in Raj Nagar Extension, and found multiple anomalies in functioning of the society. It imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the management of society on Friday.

The inspection was done after multiple complaints of the residents. The officials found that the management was irresponsibly handling the maintenance of the society. 

The officials found that half of the lifts installed in the society were not operational. Live wires were found lying openly in uncovered state. It is posing threat of electrocutions to the residents. 

The builder has been directed to rectify the anomalies within 15 days. Moreover, in violation to GRAP, building materials were found uncovered. 

GDA Officer on Special Duty, Sanjay Kumar informed that the society has 24 lifts but during inspection, only 12 were found operational, that too not as per the standards. 

CCTV cameras, automatic rescue device and intercom facility were absent from the lifts. “Builder has been directed to install these facilities within 15 days,” Kumar said. 

Besides, the officials also directed the builder to cover live wire openings with PVC pipes. The officials also witnessed sewer water flowing in the society. The ground of the park was also found t be uneven. 

“The builder has been asked to repair the sewer leakage and park surface,” Kumar added.

The officials also saw many faults in fire-fighting system and asked the fire department for survey of the society. “We will wait for report of the survey and necessary actions would be taken on its basis,” Kumar said.
