A moving giant wheel carrying more than two dozen children suddenly fell on the ground at a Diwali Mela organised at Amar Jyoti School in Karkarduma area of East Delhi on Saturday.
In the tragic incident, 14 students and 1 teacher suffered injuries on their bodies. All of them were taken to a nearby private hospital.
According to sources, an inquiry has been set up for further investigation.
A case has been registered against school for not following the safety norms.
A parent of injured student said, “Either the wheel was not fixed properly or the structure was too old to carry the load. The school should have taken proper care before hiring the wheel.”
“They should have inquired about quality and condition of the wheel before allowing it to install at the fare,” he added.
