The district administration of Ghaziabad has decided to issue temporary license for the sale of green crackers in the district only on a pre-condition that they are approved by the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO).
The vendors will be required to submit an affidavit stating that they would deal only in green crackers certified by PESO.
Earlier, the administration had said that just like last year, it would not issue licenses for the sale of crackers and old licenses would not be renewed. Farukh Nagar in Loni is a hub for manufacturing of firecrackers and most of the people there are involved in making traditional firecrackers. This year, many of the manufacturers approached the administration for licenses. However their requests were turned down.
