Residents of Antriksh Golf View 2 in Noida’s sector 78 organised a Diwali Mela on Sunday. The mela, an annual feature in the society, drew people from all walks of lives looking to chill and involve in the preparation for the festival of lights.  

The mela is held every year a week before Diwali for the residents to jointly celebrate the festival of light. As in the past, this time too people took time off their busy schedule to be part of the mela enjoy every minute of the event and savour the delicacies available at the food stalls came up at the venue.

Young and old, men and women, everyone from the society contributed to make the mela a big hit. For the entertainment of the visitors, several social and cultural programmes were held. While some of the residents actively participated in the programmes, other were content with just watching them from the sidelines. All enjoyed the occasion.

Older women of the society in their 70s also took the stage and sang a group song to a cheering crowd while young girls were seen dancing to the tune of Bollywood numbers. 

Several stalls with decorative and household items were put up for pre-Diwali shopping by female residents. 

The entire society was decked up for the occasion. The main gate illuminated with bright colourful lights while the common area was decorated with flowers and vibrant dupattas (bands of colourful cloth). DJ lights were also used for special effects on the performance area.

Major attractions of the evening were the delicacies were served piping hot. While Chinese food like chowmein was a hot favourite of children, coffee became a hit for adults. 

On the occasion, the residents also donated several items like old clothes, toys etc. to an NGO to bring smiles in the lives of underprivileged this Diwali.
