So far, 20 states have adopted the single helpline number. It was launched recently in Delhi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is all set to launch an integrated emergency helpline number '112' for police, medical and fire emergencies in the state on October 26.

The present emergency helpline number '100' will be discontinued after the launch of new helpline number. The '112' helpline number is an integration of police (100), fire (101) and women (1090) helpline numbers.

So far, 20 states have adopted the single helpline number. It was launched recently in Delhi as well.

A senior police official said, “In case somebody calls on 100 or 101 or 102, it will automatically be connected to 112.”

Akhilesh Yadav government had launched 'Dial 100' emergency police helpline number in 2016.
