Residents Of Unitech Unihomes, a high rise in Sector 117 Noida, have been facing disruption in basic services. They accuse the developer of suddenly snapping water supply.
The residents had to order a private water tanker to meet their demands. They complained that the developer was not ready to heed to their pleas.
One of the residents of the society said many of them have been paying over Rs. 1,400 a month to the developer for maintenance of common area and power supply. However, he sent an intimation to them asking for Rs. 250 more from each resident.
This increase was objected by many residents. They convened a meeting with the developer to sort out the matter two days ago. Yet the maintenance agency cut the power and water supply on Wednesday without informing the residents.
Following this, the residents and the maintenance staff entered into a heated exchange over the disruption of basic services. When the matter got worse, local police was called to intervene. The police directed the maintenance staff to restore power supply.
Though the power supply was restored around 11 o'clock after police intervention but the residents are still waiting for restoration of water supply.
CitySpidey tried to talk to Nadim Khan, the maintenance manger of the society, to take the developer's version, but he did not respond to the calls.
