Markets are filled with great decorative lights, diyas (oil-lamps), candles and other items attracting crowds as the preparation for Diwali has gained momentum.
People are seen thronging to the Galleria Market, Sector 29 market, Sadar Bazar and Sector 23 market to indulge in Diwali shopping.
Like every year, dry fruits and nuts rule the market and people are seen making all efforts to please their guests this year too.
Shops are decked up with wide variety of nuts, confectionery and other gift hampers exquisitely wrapped alluring the shoppers.
Rajendra Kumar, one of the shopkeepers in Galleria Market said, “We are offering a wide range of gift hampers from Rs 1,100 to Rs 8,000. One can also customise their choice of dry fruits, nuts and savouries in these hampers as well.”
Garima Verma, a shopper said, “As a health conscious person, I prefer to gift healthy item on Diwali. I bought a mix of dry fruits, nuts and seeds gift hamper as it is healthy option as a Diwali gift.”
Diwali festival also brings lots of anticipation among the residents to decorate their beautiful abode. Several decorative items including artificial floral garlands, handmade bandarwal, rangoli colors and more are available in the market.
Sultan Singh, another shopkeeper said, “Flower garland and bandarwal are starting from Rs 50 to Rs 300 depending upon the detailed works. Regular tea light, scented designer candles are available ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 500.”
No Diwali is complete without the lighting of diya. Regular diya ranging from Rs 30 for a dozen to designed one ranging from Rs 10 per piece to Rs 50 per piece depending on the size and work are in the market.
