Sansad Vihar CGHS: Children sensitise people on ill-effects of firecrackers

A group of children are on a mission to sensitise people on ill-effects of firecrackers at Sansad Vihar CGHS (Cooperative Group Housing Society) in Sector 3, Dwarka.

They are urging people to say no to firecrackers and save environment. They are also making people aware on the subject.

Sharmishtha Chaudhary, a resident of the society said, “This is a wonderful experience looking at the posters made by children. This is touching that children in the age group of 10 to 14 years are making such noble efforts.”

Children shared their thoughts that burning of firecrackers not only pose a great threat to the environment, but also put people’s health under risk.

Virupaksha Choudhary, Omkar Dixit, Arvit, Ashutosh, Zaid and Abhinav, all aged between 10 to 14 have pledged to minimise pollution and maximise happiness during this festive season.

Virupaksh Choudhary, a boy who is active in campaign, said, “It’s time we celebrate Diwali responsibly and with minimal environmental consequences.”

Omkar Dixit said, “We have put up charts urging people to restrain from bursting crackers and celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner.”
