The much-awaited Deepawali Mahotsav began with Laxmi-Ganesh Poojan at Radha Krishna park in Greater Noida West on Thursday. The event is an annual feature.
On the first day, a cooking competition was held in which around 23 residents of Greater Noida West took part. The participants made some mouth-watering recipes. Neha Aggarwal won the competition. She was given a prize along with other contenders who ended up as runners-up.
Several dances were performed by groups of women and children to a cheering crowd.
Many activities for children were also arranged and people were seen enjoying camel ride and relishing mouth-watering food from different food stalls.
The Mahotsav will continue till October 26. Besides cultural events, fancy dress competition for kids and Hasya Kavita for the residents will be held on Friday.
